Here is some general information about the plant meet that I send to everyone. It gives you an idea of what we do, and how to get there. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. I'm a little slow to email back, but I will email as quick as I can:)
This was all started when a group of plant lovers met on the internet through various plant exchanges. Someone came up with the idea of a get together, and the rest is history. We meet at Mercer Arboretum, (Humble, which is right outside of Spring and Houston). We have a meet every spring and fall. It is a lot of fun. We get together and eat, swap plants and seeds, and talk shop. After everyone is full and swapped out, we go across the street and tour the gardens. No money is exchanged for plants, and nothing is sold. It's all about sharing and or swapping for something that you want to add to the yard:) Anyone is welcome! Directions
If coming from the south, southwest or west, you will probably take IH-45 or the Hardy Toll Road, going north. It may be necessary that you take Loop 610 or the Beltway to get to either IH-45 or the Hardy Toll Road. In any event, go north on either IH-45 or the Hardy Toll Road, and exit at FM 1960. Turn right (or East) on F.M. 1960. Very shortly you will see Aldine Westfield Rd. which crosses 1960. Turn left (or north) on Aldine Westfield. It is approximately 1.2 miles from F.M. 1960 to the location of the Park, which is more or less directly across the street from Mercer Arboretum. There is a sign at the entrance to the Park, which will be on the left side of the street.

Near Bush Intercontinental Airport, Mercer is 22 miles north of downtown Houston. From I-45 or the Hardy Toll Road, exit FM 1960 and turn east. At Aldine Westfield Road, turn left. At the second traffic light (1 1/4 miles), 22306 Aldine Westfield Road, turn right for the Visitor Center and Gardens or left for the Arboretum and picnic grounds. They share a common entrance with the Baldwin Boettcher County Library.
